Broken out of the box-replaced by Best Buy

The first time I tried to use this driver it started mis-firing. It marred up my project real nice before I finally realized there was a problem. I called Bostitch customer support and they told me it needed to be sent to one of there repair centers. They wouldn't even try to trouble shoot why the push rod was not retracting as it should. This product has excellent reviews, but I'm not happy so far.UPDATE: I called Best Buy customer service the first time I used this nailer 2 months after I…

Pros

Works Great! for my opinion

This is a great tool. Very light-weight. I just put baseboards on with it and it made it so much easier. Another thing I like is that it doesn't require oil.

Pros
  • Very useful
Cons
  • Heavy and tiring to hold for long periods of time

I just wasted my money on another Bostitch product!

Junk. Used it several times and when it works, it worked well. BUT I cannot get it to work at all. I bought this 7 months ago and took up my project once again and the nail gun won't work. So I need to finish my baseboards NOW and I'm stuck without a gun. I can't send defective tools back to Acme tools the seller after 30 days and I have to send it back to the factory! What a pain in the rear.So I'm going to go spend the extra money and get a SENCO gun locally. This is the second Bostitch gun…

Pros
  • Works great I would recamend it to anyone.
Cons
  • The safety latch is difficult to use

A trim work must - my new review

This gun is awesome and easy to use . This was my first time putting up trim and crown molding in my new house. I don't see how you could do it with out a nail gun. This gun has never jammed and hasn't split any molding. Anyone could operate this gun.

Pros
  • Good quality and easy to use.
Cons
  • Very expensive compared to other nail guns on the market

Light, easy to use, Safe and Gets the job done

Essential if you are installing a Hardwood Floor. Instructions are clear, the case is great. Only had 2 jams but fixed that once adjust the pressure on my air compressor (my bad). Well constructed easy to work with. Works great on molding as well. Rugged construction so I look forward to years of use.

Pros
  • My Son loves it because he has a home and it helps with the little jobs he does.
Cons
  • Works, but leaks.

Had to order a replacement kit after only a few uses

After only a few uses, I apparently blew a gasket and had to order a replacement kit. Big fan of Bostitch, but this one left me disappointed.

Pros
  • ‎air-powered
Cons
  • The magazine capacity is limited

Check the part number, and don't worry

The gun is in my opinion one of the best. The only problem was that I ordered the FN1664K, they send the FN1664, twice, after returning the first one. I called bostitch and got two different explanations that I'll share.1st said they were surprised I could even find the fn1664 because they were a older model, ok that I didn't like so I returned it for the new model that I paid for. Same old number sent again, so another call, this person told me that the "K" means that it's a kit, so a nailer…

Pros
  • Power Tools
Cons
  • The exhaust port is poorly positioned and can blow debris into your face

Returning this asap

Picked this up from a local big-box hardware store for a project. I'm rather disappointed and will be returning it.My biggest gripe is that the nail depth adjustment doesn't do anything. I'm driving nails into soft-wood (yellow pine mostly) and even on the lowest pressure setting and the least drive-depth it's still over-driving the nail so bad that I can't see the head of the nail. This really came to head (pun intended) when trying to nail some 1/8" hard-board on the back of a book-shelf. It…

Bostitch FN1664K 16-Gauge Straight Finish Nailer

The nail gun worked great. The plastic and metal materials of the nail gun are of good quality; not the cheap plastic and metal seen on some others. I shot 1000+ nails with it and there wasn't a single jam. All the shots went through some real hard wood (rose wood - much denser than oak) cleanly. I previously owned a Craftsman finish nailer. This Bostitch one feels much nicer and shoots much better too.

Pros
  • I am very happy with this nailer. It works as advertised.
Cons
  • Poor customer support from the manufacturer

Versatile tool, flawless performance.

One of my favorite tools! I used this gun to build two cedar fences and to blind nail tng siding. I use the 2.5" galvanized nails and they perform very well. Over 2k nails through this gun without so much as a jam -- doesn't get much better than that.

Pros
  • ‎7 Year Limited Warranty
Cons
  • Only suitable for use on softwood or plywood

Great prodoct. for my opinion

Had same item before that only lasted 13 months, hoping this one will last a little longer. First one was purchased from a well known home improvement store. Purchased this one online much better customer service. A great product .

Pros
  • Worked Great! Haven't used a lot but what I have used, no problems!!
Cons
  • Jams all the time. Not impressed at all

Smooth, Light Weight Tool

Great tool, even though I do not use it a lot it is light and easy to load and operate. Great for installing molding. That's my review.

Pros
  • Oil-free engine: requires no daily maintenance and eliminates risk of oil stains on work surfaces
Cons
  • Can be noisy when in operation

Sturdy Consistent Nailer

I got this nail gun together with the 18 Ga nail gun for an exterior trim project. This gun has the sturdier gauge nails, but I was not as impressed with the convenience of the loading mechanism. Additionally when it got down to about 5 nails it would no longer shoot as the spring mechanism that pressed the nails forward (think like a desk stapler) would slightly tilt the nails. It didn't jamb, but you would have to load additional nails to keep going. Both products have their place and this is

Pros

Cons
  • Jams frequently

Don't buy good for me

I have purchased two of these nailers (along with a compressor and brad nailer in a combination pack). I used it to install doors, trim and baseboard. On both occasions, I followed the manual when it comes to preventive maintainence. In both cases, this nailer's air seal failed within the first several hours of work & the tool became completely unusable. Menard's replaced the unit the first time, and apparently will on the second. It is unfortunate that the craftsmanship of the product is so…

Pros
  • Nailers
Cons
  • Difficult to remove jammed nails

Finisher nailer in my review

I like the device. Not used it yet. But all packaging & the solid feel of the device is the take on this review. Will use maybe this weekend.

Pros
  • ‎FN1664K
Cons
  • May result in uneven nails

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice nailer best in my review

My old nailer finally bit the dust, so I opted for this one. I was a bit sceptical on the "oil less" but tried it any way. Seems to work just fine, no jams and drives just the way you would want it to. I'm not a heavy user, but use it a few times a month, so can't say how it would be in everyday use.

Pros
  • ‎Composite
Cons
  • Requires regular maintenance to function properly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome nailer gun!

This nailer is awesome! So easy to operate and never misfires. I love the fact that it does not need to be oiled, it has great safety features, and easy depth adjustment.

Pros
  • Light weight and full of flavor.
Cons
  • The trigger can be stiff and hard to pull

Revainrating 1 out of 5

If you like guns that fire one nail at a time this .

The gun worked okay for a while, maybe 2/3 of my project. Then it began jamming every other time I fired it. I tried all differrent nail combinations; short, long, only one long nail load. Nothing worked. If you like guns that fire one nail at a time this guns for you!

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • May cause fatigue and discomfort after prolonged use
