Update 04/07/2014: After 3 months the stainless steel outer spool broke again. We've been using it this way for the past 3 months but unless we take action to fix it I'm pretty sure the broken stainless steel edges will eventually cut through the reinforced rubber hose like the hose did. old (twice).
