I am technically handicapped. And I made it.

I didn't expect it to stand out. But it still worked. The instructions are easy once you know if you have Intel or AMD. Make sure the screws on the fan are aligned with the backplane before applying the paste. The RGB controller confused me. The instructions show you're connecting it to something, but don't know what it should be. My old stock RGB fan just got attached to the CPU fan header. When that fan didn't light up, I thought the controller was broken. It turns out that part of the…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Another 212 for fans and cooling

Not much to say here, the 212 has been around for quite some time and has always had a reputation for performance on a tight budget, and in this case a bit of style. I prefer the mounting system they used in this version to other systems I've used, especially when it comes to installing the fan. The plastic anti-vibration clip is way better than the old wire clips they used, mainly because it actually stays attached to the fan and won't fall off if a fly coughs next to it during the assembly…

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Having trouble

Pretty good CPU cooler

I just upgraded from an Intel i7 7700k to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x. I knew I wanted a new cooler as I don't have parts for my Hyper 212 cooler. I bought this Hyper 212 RGB BE cooler and found that the instructions were missing. But although the instructions weren't very good, I figured it out. Parts are clearly marked, nothing broke during assembly. The fan is attached to the heatsink and is very easy to lift up to make room for the RAM. The RGB didn't light up the first time, but I found that you…

Great heatsink but fan died after 2 months

I'm starting to realize that Cooler Master fans are horribly unreliable. Although the heat dissipation is excellent. This significantly reduced the temperature of the processor. The standard AMD Wraith cooler turned out to be junk. And installation was easy. Unfortunately, the fan on this cooler died after 2 months. Although the LEDs still worked. I bought two replacement fans from Cooler Master (MF120 Halo ARGB). One for the processor and one for the back of my case. Less than an hour later…

  • Worth the money

Was not compatible, had to return

They were recommended to me by a friend who now uses this cooler in his assembly. I checked my build with a PC parts assembler and everything seemed compatible until it got to where I wanted to mount my cooler and the brackets just didn't reach the mobo pins which had to be attached with screws! I used an AMD RYZEN 5 3600 and had both Intel and AMD hardware. I even asked a few others to take a look to make sure I didn't install it incorrectly and it's just not compatible with my board even…

Great budget air cooler, quiet, nice RGB

Hyper 212 is now a classic, black RGB is a nice addition. I actually gave up on my first generation Corsair water cooler (is it 10 years old?) because it no longer ran my FX8350 at 4GHz and I was constantly handling hundreds of GB of 16-bit .SER video containers. The H212 does. I no longer exceed 40C at full load when using all 8 cores at full load. The costs are amazing. It's pretty quiet, but powerful. RGB is good if you care, it's easy to install a light controller. Installation wasn't very…

  • Great price

The best CPU air cooler I've ever bought, but .

is such a great product but make sure you fit it in your bag as it will NOT fit a thin, slim or other small computer other than maybe a cube case? Second, install this BEFORE you install your motherboard, or pray to heaven your case has a cutout for access to the CPU mounts on the back since you'll need to replace the mounting plate you're currently installing for this beast have to! If your motherboard has a 4-pin RGB header (ASUS, MSI, and a few others), I recommend you plug that in instead…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • boring packaging

Disappointed this time

Bought an Intel i7 9700k processor and needed a reliable CPU cooler. The Cool Master 212 Black Edition got a lot of good reviews for a good price. The photos I have provided in this review are of the condition it was received in, factory boxed for shipping so the box was not in new condition. When I opened the box, the hardware was worn with scratches and 4 corners of one side of the radiator fins were bent. I traded it in because I paid a lot for my processor and want it to be protected. If…

Pros
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • Slightly dented
