Excellent deep springform pan

I purchased this springform pan to make a British-style savory pie for Thanksgiving, and I was very happy with the result. The base is designed to catch any drips or leaks, which it did very well, and the top unlocked easily. There was a bit of a problem lifting it off because I made the crust as if it was in a pie pan, which you can see in the photos - my bad, due to inexperience! I didn’t want to trim off the crust so it lifted off a bit when removing the pan, but no real harm done. FYI, the…

Cons

Nice high sides / depth

These FAT DADDIO 9" DIA Springform Pans are excellent. And though I had to wait for a replacement when Revain shipped the first one with a dented bottom, it was worth the wait. The clips are quality-made, as are both the tops & bottoms -- and I've never experienced leaking at the seams. And the light aluminum helped me avoid a mistake I'd almost made in buying a set of "dark" metal pans (before learning that darker metal pans affects the browning / crispiness -- from what I've read). I'd buy…

Pros
  • Springform
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove from the pan

Use parchment paper.

If you use oversized parchment paper as a gasket, lining the bottom, you will have no problem with leaks. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • NO EXTRA METALS OR CHEMICAL COATINGS - Anodizing is not a coating. It is an environmentally-friendly process that contains no chemical additives, dyes, PTFE’s or PFOA’s. Nothing that can transfer, peel, flake or rust into your baking.
Cons
  • May leak batter during baking

A pretty good springform

Please note that although the product description reads 6" x 3", the base of this pan is 8". The size won't work for me - I bought it to use in a slow cooker and my large oval model is too narrow. I borrowed an ancient crock pot to test a cheesecake recipe where it was cooked raised above the simmering water. The springform pan seemed very sturdy and well made. The base has a raised/crowned center, about 3/8" high, which fits inside the spring ring. The recipe called for a circle of parchment…

Pros
  • Perfectly circular shape
Cons
  • May require preheating before use

An excellent addition to the kitchen goodie bench

Cheese cake tins are like gum ball machine toys, they are every where and every one has their own spin. This design is unique and filled the void! Give this tin a try

Pros
  • Versatile enough for a wide range of baked goods
Cons
  • Not compatible with induction stovetops

No more leakage best in my review

I like making cheesecakes with different crusts but often had butter leak out while baking. This pan solves that problem and also makes it easy to remove slices as there is no little ridge.

Pros
  • Love this for my cheesecake recipes! Worked wonderfully, not a problem at all.Love it!
Cons
  • Base may warp over time

I wanted to love this pan

This springform pan is highly recommended by professional bakers for cheesecakes. If you google "best springform pan” for cheesecakes or in general, you’ll see it suggested a few times. What makes it unique to other pans is the same reason why you will hate it. You see, the plate, aka the bottom, of the pan sits high compared to other springform pans, which makes it easier to remove your cakes. The problem with that is, that the high bottom causes the pan to leak through this big opening at the

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning
Cons
  • May impart a metallic taste to food

This pan makes me so happy. All my cheesecakes tasted good but had problems — cracking, uneven doneness, difficulty removing (to say the least!), etc. I definitely never expected to ever turn out a cheesecake I could serve without apologizing. Fat Daddio’s is wonderful!

Pros
  • Doesn't emit any harmful fumes during baking
Cons
  • May not distribute heat evenly

Does what it says best in my review

When I got it, I made a cheesecake from the recipe at work. The center batter was thick but still leaked out the side with the latch. It would also not fit into the 18 quart roaster pan, the base being about 12 inches.I never return stuff unless it is 90-100% broken. This works as advertised but I will be getting the proper size we use at work. (9in springform)

Pros
  • Easy to use, making it great for beginners
Cons
  • Tendency to bend under weight

Good construction good for me

This was purchased for a six quart pressure cooker and it works just great. Cleaning around the separating part is a learning process really, you have to figure out where the residue is going to settle. The separation is easy when you slide a knife around the edges first so I do recommend that. I can say that quite a lot of friends have enjoyed the results of using this item.

Pros
  • Can withstand high oven temperatures up to 450°F
Cons
  • Not recommended for use in a sous vide water bath

Possible damage or design flaw

Just received the pan so no comment on the leak proof. DId notice a couple of areas that look like they have been damaged whereas the rest of the pan is perfectly formed and designed. Have emailed manufacturer and waiting for reply. WIll update review once I hear back.

Pros
  • Easy to release baked goods from pan
Cons
  • Prone to warping if exposed to rapid temperature changes

DISAPPOINTED! - my new review

I love Fat Daddio’s products — they are wonderful, but this one was an epic FAIL. The springform does not close tightly enough. I thought it was sealed and placed it in the oven. When I checked about 5 minutes later, the pan was leaking. I told myself it would stop and left it in the oven. 20 minutes later, my oven was smoking and about 33% of my ingredients were all over the bottom of the oven. What a mess!

Pros
  • Gives amazing results when baking dessert recipes
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean around the hinge

Great cheesecake pan!

I really liked it a lot, I especially liked that the bottom tray was larger in the event that it ever did leak it wouldn’t be in the bottom of my oven. Great pan!

Pros
  • EASY CAKE RELEASE - Stainless steel latch and removable wide-base bottom, makes cake-release simple and easy… just push.
Cons
  • Not non-stick, which can result in sticking and difficult removal

FINALLY, A QUALITY PAN!

These pans are high quality and very well made. They function very well. These will last a long time unlike those semi-disposable department store pieces. Would buy again, but really don't think I'll need to.

Pros
  • Highly recommended by professional bakers and chefs
Cons
  • Not stackable with other pans

Love this pan! good for me

I make a LOT of cheesecakes, this pan is fantastic. The cakes cook up evenly, and cleanup is easy. The bottom of the pan has a large diameter, so I ended up using my paella pan for the Bain Marie.

Pros
  • Can be used in a professional setting or in home kitchens
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in a slow-cooker

Fat Daddio's to the rescue!

What a great springform pan! I will make a long story short. This purchase was a replacement for a replacement that was just horrible. I needed a replacement in a hurry. The first springform I purchased was from Michaels and was made by Wilton. I used it and it was awful, flimsy, bent easily, and there was nothing you could call a seal around the bottom. There were gaps so big that you could've stuck a wooden skewer though. I was horribly upset that I had spent as much as I did on it. Enter Fat

Pros
  • Leaves no hot spots during baking
Cons
  • Rivets may loosen over time

Not good for water bath

I purchased this pan to make small cheesecakes, but it doesn't work for me. The pan is sturdy and very professional looking, but I'm not a fan of the half inch lip that goes all the way around the bottom of it. I cook my cheesecakes in a water bath and the lip makes it extremely difficult to foil wrap the pan. I have tried the pan a few times but each time has been a fail. Each time I have carefully wrapped the pan, but water managed to leak through the foil and make the cheesecake soggy. I…

Pros
  • Even heat distribution for perfectly baked goods
Cons
  • Takes up a lot of storage space
