A few twists and they start to fall and won't hold up. The backing (white fabric part) where the Hook & Loop random orbital sander is supposed to be attached starts to lose grip after a few uses - the sandpaper isn't even worn out. I don't know what's going on, I've worn others (from another manufacturer) and even to the max (sandpaper side), they still stick to my velcro random orbital sander with no problem.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Great for quick cutting, the sand stays in place as does the velcro.

These 40Gt grinding wheels work great. I find myself looking at the disc to see if it's worn and wondering if it's still going. Used to remove cracked paint from beveled sidewalls and smooth them out before replacing the grit. They work great. The paint does not clog and the sand stays in place. The only area where the sand has come loose is the perimeter, which is about 1/8 inch larger than the bottom plate and therefore hitting every adjacent surface, twisting a little and knocking the sand…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Disappointed: grinding wheels

For several years I have been using Mirka, Makita and sometimes other brands (Tigershark, Powertec) sold here on Revain. Previously, I had exclusively distributed the Gator brand in retail and had no experience with other newspapers. Now that I haven't worked with Gator for several years, it was a huge disappointment to come back. It lasts 50-70% longer than other papers, sticks very easily and has an exceptionally thin backing. The adhesion between the substrate and the paper seems normal, but

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Poor instructions

I doubt their authenticity.

I bought a smaller one and there is a noticeable difference between them. They have a stiffer base, none of them are labeled as Gators, just the grit is labeled the same as other knockoffs I've tried. The problem with a harder pad is that they'll fly off the sander faster as they lose their ability to stick to the pad. Long before the seal actually wears out. So yes, prepare to replace them more often. And some of them are closer to 60 grit, especially after some sanding. Overall, yes, they…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Vulgarity
