Not a bad device, but there's one problem I keep running into: when the power supply fluctuates due to a storm or other event, the POE switch doesn't always recover and has to cycle off and on be turned on. It is recommended to install the device on a backup battery.

It took me a long time to write this review because I really wanted to see what I thought of this system. Of the six cameras that came with this system, two did not work and the third only worked for a very short period of time (e.g. two days) and then stopped working. I chose this system after reading the published reviews, but in the end I felt I made a bad choice. I am very dissatisfied. I could accept a defective camera, but not three. I wish I could get my money back.

I just sent the system back today. Mainly because none of the six cameras worked with motion detection. I have been told by Technical Support that this is a known issue. Also the technical support sometimes didn't call back for a long time. Three cameras have started to pixelate the bottom part of the display. The NVR was a bit quirky. This product works great but not DIY. I've spent hours learning how to manage and set up these cameras and dash cams. I love the vision at night, it's great. I wish cameras had more than just a wide-angle lens. A camera prevented me from changing the factory settings so I had to send it back. I'm a computer scientist, so I grasp information quickly. UPDATE: System does not recognize cameras for more than 5 minutes. I've spent over 80 hours of work trying to fix the problem. GW sent out a new POE switch but to no avail. Revain will not accept it back as it has been more than a month since the purchase. GW won't take it back because I bought it from Revain. I am disappointed in this purchase. Hands off. Motion detection doesn't work at all on one camera and is unpredictable on the other five, with three out of six devices not accepting and holding time input.
