I've tried pretty much everything to get this to work. The camera package should include a power cord for the setup process. Objects are MUCH closer than they appear. A wide-angle lens distorts the image so much that it cannot be used as a rear view, either on the freeway or in a parking lot. While the guide lines are parallel on the monitor, they are actually heavily distorted due to the fisheye effect. It's hard to judge the angle of the trailer. I just installed a Haloview wireless camera and monitor using a Haloview Furrion adapter. You don't actually need the adapter, but the installation looks better with it. I tested the adapter separately. I only gave 3 stars. Obviously this is a lot cheaper than the Furrion device.
