Don't move when connected you will lose performance HD

I am pleased to connect to my laptop. Plug and play was good, the drive was recognized immediately with no issues and I took the HD to a safe place, unplugging and plugging it again and again while moving, especially vertically. Trible checked for loose connections to my laptop and the cable connecting the case and HD. Everything is safe and sealed. But it got disconnected a couple of times until I put it away. (Lots of other buyers wrote the same thing, thinking they'd already fix it and…

Pros
  • Finally bought

A good case is best in hard drive cases

I use this for a 2TB Samsung SSD mainly for media server storage. To be honest I think USB-C is the way to go as it doesn't slow down the SSD much. I wish it was easier to install an SSD - it's a bit of a blind guess to align the docking. Connector with drive, since the drive has to be pushed through the open front. It took me about ten minutes to fix it. So the design is a bit different. Another point is that the design requires you to reverse the opening from the front, and it's not entirely…

Pros
  • understandable also required for old

VERY slow connection to MacBook Pro (compared to alternatives)

1) In the beginning it was almost impossible to open the case safely. It took considerable force to force the pieces apart, enough to make me think I was hacking the case. Finally, the pieces were easier to slide. 2) Installing an SSD is tricky - you don't see the connectors and the case doesn't route the card directly into the slots. Prepare for more frustration when it doesn't even connect the first time because the card isn't installed properly. 3) SLOWLY. SLOW. SLOW. I tried several SSD…

Good unit, just a small (potential) problem

I really like this case. I replaced the spinning hard drive in my iMac with an SSD and wanted to use the old spinning hard drive as an external backup. This position met all the requirements. It looks nice with the black aluminum cover and works well, but I ended up having an issue that took me some time to diagnose. I have a Logitech solar wireless keyboard that uses a USB port to communicate between the computer and the keyboard. After running the cable from the iMac to the drive case, I…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some small things

Not what I expected

I was expecting the case to be metal to dissipate heat through conduction, when it's just a plastic case with a metal grille on top. It's still better than a plastic case with no vents, but not by much. Also, I don't think the metal grille on top is worth the 30% premium. I will post the test results as soon as I receive my 1TB SSD.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Worries me

It did not work. Best in Hard Drive Enclosure

There were a few extra SSDs. I decided to turn some of these into external hard drives for myself and others. This body looked very beautiful. and what i read. will actually work fine. I misunderstood the last one, there was NOTHING I could do to get it recognized by multiple computers. I change the body and yes. works perfectly. leads me to believe that the case is defective. then I'll take a closer look. Contacts are soldered by hand. very filigree design. Never judge a case by its…

Works well enough but seems cheap

In this case I installed a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB drive and it works fine although I haven't run a throughput test. Installation went well, but even with the instructions, it was a bit difficult to figure out how the pieces slide together. Cheap plastic didn't help, I was afraid to break it. But the hard drive performed well and I mainly use it for macOS Time Machine backups, which are fast. I wish the blue LED was on the front instead of the back with the USB-C connector. I like to see the light,

Pros
  • Hard drive accessory

  • Power socket required

Two cancellations within two weeks = nonsense!

I've always been a big fan of INATECK products----until now. If the two I bought were my first INATECK purchases I wouldn't try any of their other items. .I have two of these; and before I could get them to work I was busy doing other things; When I had a chance to test them, they each worked fine for about a week and then started constantly connecting to the computer and then losing signal. Of course, by then my return window had closed, so I was stuck with this useless stuff. I know that…

Pros
  • computers and accessories
Cons
  • boring packaging

I bought this Inateck FE2005 and installed Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD but FE2005 doesn't work. When I first plugged it into a USB 3.0 port, the LED flashes blue and so on, so I'm trying to copy a huge file to check the speed and it starts at 300+ MB/s, drops but down to 0 after a few seconds. bytes/s and stops responding, file transfers usually hang at the percentage that is reached at that point. Sometimes it even causes Windows to become unresponsive until I unplug the USB cable. I decided to…
