Excellent fit and wear

How: Fits perfectly out of the box. No break-in period. Durable and comfortable. I've ordered these before. I try other NB sneakers.

Pros
  • I like them, they are roomy enough for my toes to have room.
Cons
  • The shoes have no tag. It's really small, not very wide as I ordered it

I read the reviews and bought 1/2 size larger than my husband usually wears and they fit great! They were put to the test last weekend while living in Washington State, it was a real downpour! He was covered in mud and water and surprisingly soaked to his feet! They were dry, I was amazed at how waterproof these shoes are! They are very comfortable as my husband's job requires him to be on his feet and walking 6 days a week for more than 10 hours a day.

Pros
  • I bought a second pair of these shoes. You stay beautiful. And they are the most comfortable shoes I have.
Cons
  • Drop in attenuation occurs after a few months of use

Looks nice and comfortable

I ordered these for my son - I ordered a half size up based on reviews and they are too big. I think for extra wide you can order normal size

Pros
  • Overall I love this shoe. I wish it had a memory foam insert instead of just foam. Good shoes so far.
Cons
  • Mismatched sizes of different colors of the same shoe

Suitable for the little ones: my rating

The shoes appear to be well made. I wear 12M and ordered these. The shoes were very narrow and my toe was right on the front of the boot. I suggest ordering at least half a size larger and maybe a little wider than you usually wear. The shoes are also a bit "heavy" but they are supposedly waterproof and I think they would make a good walking/hiking shoe for flat trails.

Pros
  • A good product
Cons
  • The product was too small. My wife tried them on and they fit her perfectly so they didn't send them back.

Good fit, comfortable shoes

I followed the recommendations of others and ordered half a size larger than usual and it fits perfectly. I wore these shoes to run on the treadmill and I felt great. There is a lot of cushioning on the bottom of the shoe to keep my feet from hurting when walking.

Pros
  • GREAT
Cons
  • The inside of the heel of both shoes came off after only 1 month of wearing.

I don't like the new size of New Balance

Having worn New Balance shoes for over 40 years, this is the first time I have had to return a pair because they didn't fit well. NB has had a wider range of widths in years past, but they recently changed that and now only have three widths. This pair of 9Ws was too narrow and too short for me. I used to always wear 9E, but more now.

Pros
  • Exactly what I expected, great for hiking.
Cons
  • Shoes can cause foot and ankle pain after prolonged wear

NB = nothing better

I bought my first pair around 1980, 996 I think and wore them until they were more duct tape than shoes. This is an American icon that still carries me for miles.

Pros
  • You were fine
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other hiking shoes on the market

I look forward to using them!

Comfortable, durable, sturdy shoes. I am 12.5 years old and use the Berkenstock insole and there is still room in my toes but the shoe doesn't look too big. I'm looking for a way to use them in my job as a truck driver.

Pros
  • Fits as expected. Well done. Looks good. Comfortable and supportive shoes.
Cons
  • I need a spare pair. This couple has bonding problems

Hiking shoes are good for me

Bought these to run on a treadmill, they seem well made, comfortable and light weight. I've ridden it 20km so far. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Comfortable. Great fit. Excellent cushioning to protect your feet.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with wider feet

Not my favorite - my new review

Small, maybe the most uncomfortable New Balance shoes I've ever bought. NB has always been a good choice for me. At work, I'm on my feet all day. This is the first (and hopefully only) time I've been disappointed.

Pros
  • I use stronger shoes for mountain hiking in Colorado, but for local Green Belt hikes they are perfect.
Cons
  • The insole tends to slip inside the shoe.

Great walking shoes.

I walk about 3 miles in 45 minutes to an hour every morning, and I walk about ½ a day and talk on my work phone. I am over 60 years old. These are the best shoes I have. Super comfortable, great fit. I bought three pairs to change within a week. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • I hope they don't get rid of this style because they've been using it at work for the past 3 years.
Cons
  • I don't like memory foam.

Great gift - my opinion

Bought for my husband after a long search. He loves them and said they immediately feel comfortable. Fits as expected. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • The protection wears out easily

Need half a size bigger and wider, run small

Small size always wear 10 it's narrow and short need 10.5 and wide would like to return but I've already used them hoping they loosen up. CAN I EXCHANGE? For 10.5 wide always buy New Balance sneakers for golf etc. These are funny short and narrow. Please advise

Pros
  • Shoelaces cannot be tied tightly and will continue to untie as you walk.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with high arches

Attention buyers in my review

Warning, I'm starting to think that most of the products on Amazon are fake! The same price or higher than buying locally, but there is no quality

Pros
  • great shoes for walking
Cons
  • Shoes need frequent cleaning due to visible scuffs and stains

Matches its name.

I love these shoes! I am a hiker and walk 4 to 5 miles a day every day. Since buying the New Balance Walkers I've run a few hundred miles, 90% of them on tarmac, and haven't had to take a break. They were very comfortable right out of the box. Only the cushioning took some getting used to. Even when walking on asphalt, it gives the impression of a thick carpet. I was looking for a pair of NB off-road hiking shoes but couldn't find one that was the right size and price. They make my feet happy…

Pros
  • The shoes are comfortable and fit perfectly.
Cons
  • Outsole wears out quickly

Even very wide is not wide enough

These are great looking shoes. In NB I always wear 8 2E or sometimes 4E. The binding box on them is not wide enough even on the 4E. I wore them out of the house so I can't return them, but I won't buy them again.

Pros
  • As advertised
Cons
  • Fits well, holds up well but is NOT WATERPROOF which is the only reason I bought it.

Size is too small but otherwise good

Based on other people's reviews, I ordered a size larger. I usually have 15W so I went with 16EW. Even then, one pinky felt a little cramped. But after a little wear, the shoes relaxed a bit and became very comfortable. I've never had Fresh Foam and was afraid they would be too soft and wear out too quickly, but they feel like any other shoe. I love the extra grip on the shoes and use them as both hiking and golf shoes. They seem pretty solid, but time will tell. Therefore, I recommend, but…

Pros
  • I bought these for morning walks and was pleasantly surprised that they work great even on some pretty rough trails.
Cons
  • Don't wear well.

The size is JOKE! at Athletic

I've had Rockport 10.5 W shoes for years including 4-5 recent pairs. I decided to try New Balance on my next pair because they are made in America and I love the style. I couldn't even get into the New Balance 10.5 2E it's so bad the production is so far from normal size! I was considering ordering a size up but not sure if they will fit! Such a shame. Does NB work with its own size chart? I am extremely disappointed. Made in America, unfortunately, according to non-standard parameters. Stay…

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Some issues

Too much pain for $$

I have worn many NB shoes but these are by far the worst. My heels never caught in shoes so they rubbed from day one. The sole must be too thin because my feet hurt every time I wear them for a walk twice a day. Glad they seem to fit well. I read the reviews and bought a half size larger than usual but would like to stay with my normal size. The shoes are heavier than any hiking shoes I have ever owned. I don't see anything wrong with that, just hoping I can live with the friction and pain as I

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • There are cons

Love New Balance and always buy 11 wide shoes for walking, hiking and running before ordering with no fit issues. Shoes, although marked as wide, are definitely not and can in fact be narrow to the point where I can't even put them on without much difficulty! Like all New Balance shoes I own these shoes look good but unlike all the others they are much smaller than any other New Balance shoes I wear. Maybe New Balance made the 'narrow' 'new wide' to save a nickel or two, but still, this shoe…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Has flaws
