Works when IT wants it, not when I need it

There is no on/off switch on this thing. Light on/off only. So the first time you connect everything works. for some time. Then it turns off. When? your guess. And then it takes a few hours for it to turn back on. When? your guess.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

The power supply is too small for continuous operation.

12VDC power supply unit current, 3 A, failed after four months. It was always hot so I suspect it's not true to size. I bought a 12V DC 5 amp power supply and the connection still works. The new PSU does not heat up. I haven't measured the reference load, but I bet it's close to 3 amps. If you plan to use it all the time, you'd better get a bigger power adapter or don't buy this product.

he died nine months after purchase

I like the idea of the product. I'm willing to sacrifice the energy efficiency of thermoelectric cooling for a simpler design and size (I believe the fan is the only moving part) which I hoped would translate to longevity, but something seems to come along out of tune with the device and it doesn't I'm not working. no longer turn on. Part of me wants a different one, but part of me doesn't want to reward bad quality and it seems like the different products are just renamings of the same item…

It works out! in the kitchen and dining room

I like having a cold drink on my desk while I work, but I find it doesn't stay cold for long and makes my papers sweaty. This product keeps him cold. You no longer have to go to the fridge several times a day for a cold drink. I keep a liter of bottled water at room temperature in my office under my desk and fill the mug that comes with the product to my liking and coolness. I've only had this product for a week. So far it works great, the drink is prepared very, very cold, which I like…

Does what it's supposed to do, but inefficient and too noisy

This thing gets an aluminum mug really cold. It doesn't actually freeze anything, but is very cold as long as it's liquid in the aluminum cup. The insert of the glass is not tight enough for the real glass to stay cool. Better buy an insulator from a Yeti Rambler type can. Otherwise, you'll be using the cooler all the time or turning it on and off all the time. It is much more practical to simply pour the liquid into an aluminum cup and drink from it, but that distracts from the idea of…

This can cause a fire.

Beautiful electronic refrigerator. The only problem I see is that the power supply (adapter - 120 volts to 12 volts) is rated for the load (3 amps). This will make the adapter very hot. I measured 133 degrees Fahrenheit or 56 degrees Celsius. I spoke to the supplier and they were very good at making me happy, but in my opinion the device should have a 5 or 6 amp adapter. You are an intermediary and therefore have no control over changes to the larger adapter. I think one company makes all these

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Useless features

A bit noisy but works

The seller doesn't mention the amount of continuous fan noise from this unit. It's not deafening, but it's still clearly noticeable. Over time, it can become barely noticeable background noise. But not yet. Also, the round tinted disc that covers the display was in my pocket when I opened the box. I actually still had the opportunity to return it for a new product. Or I can clean the disc, put some glue on it and put it back on. I'm thinking about it. UPDATE: This device has failed after two…

A thoughtful gadget that keeps drinks ice cold.

I was recently wondering if there's a better way to keep a drink cool during the summer months than to thin it down with melting ice? You can use whiskey stones or similar reusable ice cube substitutes, but surely there has to be something more 21st century? And there is! In fact, we've had the technology to do this since 1834 in the form of the Peltier cooler, which uses electricity to create a temperature gradient without moving parts or liquids. In practice: You press the capacitive touch…
