Time will tell what's good for rough plumbing

My basement stair drain goes straight to my sump. During a heavy downpour, any power outage can create a very chaotic situation. I explored several options, but this seemed to be the most difficult and reliable route. Yes, it was also the most expensive alternative. The device arrived very quickly in excellent condition. Very easy to install. The supplied battery cables appear to be of very good quality. A Group 27 deep-cycle battery will cost just over $200 at a local battery depot. The…

Paid in 12 hours

I rarely write reviews anywhere. It sounds artificial. Having recently received a pump action sentry post, I had to leave for the weekend. Before running out the door, I quickly installed the block and 2 batteries in parallel, all of which took maybe 20 minutes. I knew it was raining heavily this weekend. Fast forward 12 hours when my utility company sent a horrible text message about a power outage that is estimated to be fixed in 6-8 hours. I was panicking. When I got home the next day, the…

The device does not work properly out of the box.

Had the same experience as the other review on this item. Plugged everything in as instructed, bought a brand new Napa Deep 8270 cycle as instructed, the unit light was on high charge, my pump works fine when connected to the unit and the unit to the wall. So I left the unit on for 12 hours, checked again and then the indicator showed 'fully charged' and I found it was working great. Tested it by unplugging it and the device clicked a few times but didn't switch to battery power, the pump…

Offers opening times

We have a waterfront home with a basement (not recommended). A few years after we bought it, the single (non-submersible) drain pump failed and the basement had 12 inches of water. Thus began my training in hydraulic pressure and the art of removing groundwater before it could do any harm. a second shaft was installed and connected to the existing shaft in the basement. Two pumps were installed and one in the new larger sump was lower meaning it was the main pump. I also isolated each pump to…

Great Peace of Mind

Our home has a partial subfloor with a French drain and drain pump that I don't know the exact design of. We lost power in heavy rain and realized the limitations of this system when water seeped into the finished basement. Looking for a fix most systems seemed like a new sump pump with a built in backup battery which seemed unnecessary. We also had a company that offered space encapsulation options but they never responded to us, probably $$$$. Be sure to log in to Pump Sentry. It easily…

then I bought a marine battery recommended in the manual

I was dying for this item to work as I was looking for a reliable backup system for my drain pump. In short, I configured the system according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure it's compatible with my drain pump - Everbilt 1/2 HP drain pump. Check the input and output specifications, and then bought the marine battery recommended in the manual. My first problem was that when connected to a marine battery, the Pump Sentry's lights indicated that the battery was charging. Strange…
