Poor design with special parts

I don't normally write reviews that indicate flaws or problems with a product, but that's true. The device itself is fairly slim and works well, but the vent on the lid is the mainstay. The thread between the cap and the exhaust pipe was the source of 3 different leaks. I ended up having to buy pipe glue/glue to stop the leak. They had to fabricate or cast the lid and tubes as a complete set. As long as it works and doesn't leak. For 1 load of laundry, the pump runs approx. 6 times. They also…

Dangerous. Check Parts

The pin for the float switch (which is not described as required in the instructions) was missing and it was not obvious that due to the design it needed to be installed. The float fell apart and flooded my basement after the first use. Make sure the pin is in the tiny hole in the switch body and the float arm is in, or you will be in for a nasty surprise. Warranty and install my own type of pin to fix it in the switch body to make it work and clean the water in a few hours with a freshly…

Not complete as shown.

As others have said I did not get what is pictured. I did not receive the 2 white pipes you see in the picture. I went and spent the extra money on fittings to make it work. I was able to get a good check valve at Lowes that screwed into the top of the outlet. I had to buy a fitting to screw into the vent and attach my own PVC pipe to it with the fitting. And I had to buy a fitting to screw into the inlet to attach to the sink drain. It took me about 3 hours to put everything together not…

Works great but don't rely on the full check valve

I've been using it for about a year, it's holding up perfectly. It's a bit noisy - I can hear it in the basement from my living room right above. But it doesn't have to run for more than 20 seconds to get rid of my washing machine's waste water, so I don't have a problem with that. But I have a few complaints about the installation, so I'm deducting a star: 1. As mentioned, you'll need to supply your own external piping and fittings - there are three PVC fittings in the unit (one for the inlet,

Functional test before installation. Actually a good guide is below

The very first thing you need to do is take this thing out of the box and make sure the pump is working. The pump has a pre-installed float and is held in place by a small pin at the connection point. Connect the pump and raise the float. If the pump does not turn on, the pump is defective. That was the case with mine and it was very frustrating to figure it out to the end, especially now that the pump is full of water. From here I will give labeled directions because the ones that contained…
