If the screwdriver is not perfectly perpendicular to the screws, it will wobble and dangle. The original pocket hole version of this Kreg carpenter's screw is definitely a high quality fastener. Is it possible to get by with inferior versions? Probably. But for my money, I'll spend an extra dollar not to worry about a blunt tip or a deformed power head. Here is a hobby carpenter. These countersunk screws are a great way to quickly connect multiple boards while keeping things out of sight. Kreg also sells them in combination with connectors, which is a great way to save time on a project. After reading this is probably not the most reliable solution to connect some boards together but probably one of the fastest.
