Great Grill - Grilling and Grilling Accessories

I bought this to cook meat in a wood fired oven. It has been heated to almost 1000 degrees Fahrenheit with no problem (although not recommended). I currently use it in my Weber BBQ to add meat and veggies or when cooking paella in our wood fired paella pan. Cleaning is similar to grills, except they are cast iron, so they should be seasoned after cleaning to prevent rusting. We keep ours under a grill hood year round and I have no problem. My only criticism is that the legs come off fairly…

Do you have a wood stove? Take it!

I have a wood stove in my garden and it has become a staple. Fire up the stove, spread a layer of hot coals in the middle, place this sucker on top, heat for 10 minutes and you're good to go! Whatever you're cooking, a little fat or juice drips onto the coals, burns as smoke that rises into the food and gives it incredible flavor. For some reason it's not the same as regular grilling, it tastes different and really good. Chicken bones, hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, veggies. So good. Cons, I've…

If you have a wood stove, this is what you want!

The wood-burning stoves are great and this grill opens up a whole new world for you while you feast on delicious homemade pizza, bread, stir-fries and more. A carnivore classic " Bistecca alla Fiorentina is legendary the wood-fired grilled steak, but we tried the chicken and it was fantastic. The secret is the radiant heat of the pre-heated WFO combined with the hot coals beneath this pre-heated grill, allowing the meat will brown quickly on both sides. That should also be good for roasting…

Fantastic item that fits right

We recently had a caja china roast pork party - with this method you place the pig in a metal box with coals on top. We decided to give our coals a dual function and put this baby on the box/embers and make "appetizers" while the pig roasts. By appetizers I mean ribeye steaks and corn cooked in the shell. He did a great job with both of them and kind of stole the show from the main event (pig!). It worked much better on steaks than my gas or ceramic grills (Vision Grills). I think the reason it

Ideal for cooking in the kitchen house

I built an old house when the kitchen house was a separate building. A few years ago I asked a mason to recreate a chimney with a modern hearth using original bricks. Then I had the wild idea to cook food in the kitchen. I watched a few videos, bought this grill along with a dutch oven and hosted a group of friends for an 18th century meal. I found out you cook over charcoal, not wood, and this grill was perfect. I burned some hazel stems and scooped out a pile to put the grill on, the legs…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Damaged

The small diameter threaded bolts that attach the legs to the grate do not inspire confidence. From the box, all the bolts are screwed into the legs, and then you screw the legs into the grate to assemble the item. When I unscrewed one of the legs, the bobby pin stayed in the trellis. The remaining 3 rivets remained in the legs. In any case, if one of the cleats ever breaks, one end will likely get stuck in the leg and the other end in the grate, making the broken pieces difficult to remove. In

Excellent quality, I'm very glad I bought it!

This is great! I have used this in my home fireplace to cook turkey burgers and whatnot during the winter months. I also plan to make it a part of our camping gear in spring, summer and early fall. At first I thought it was a bit pricey but the great reviews convinced me to spend more than I wanted to. The quality is fantastic and I don't find it expensive anymore because it's durable and heavy (compared to other fireplace/pit grills) and will probably last me forever! Cheaper grills don't last

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No paint required

Love at first sight. Need a good windbreak

What makes this grill so great is that it fits on a 32 inch Dutch oven table with plenty of Dutch oven space next to it. I recently returned from a road trip and it was amazing. It can be used as is, or you can put foil on top for slower grilling, or place a pan on top for eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Or you can wrap the ribs in foil, place them on this grill, and then wrap the entire Dutch Oven table in strong foil to create a more oven-like ambient heating. Great job Steve Reichlen. Great BBQ.…
