Perfect fit for 2012 Honda Pilot EX

It was very easy to install and works perfectly. Much cheaper than going to a dealership - Honda charges around $350 for it. Check Youtube for installation help. It's pretty much plug and play though. The hardest part was getting that smelly side panel off the back.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • No Instructions

DIY and save

Worked perfectly and saved me over $200 compared to the dealer install on my 2013 Honda Pilot. The printed instructions are difficult to follow, but you can find a few Youtube videos to help you understand what you need to do. Quick easy project. The hardest part is understanding how to disconnect existing wiring - some you push, some you pull.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Reliability

Triple check before connecting

Although I know how to work with cars, the installation was easy, but the guide wasn't the best. Whilst most wires work the ground connection is poor but unfortunately this renders the daytime running lights unusable meaning no trailer is running at night and also prevents the electricity in the trailer from working. Since parking lights and any lights are one of the most important factors when towing a trailer, I should have given these 3 stars. If all the wiring worked I would definitelyโ€ฆ

Arrives just right.

Easy to install on our 2012 Honda Pilot (using the factory tow kit, oddly no wiring) and does the job. The instructions are a little sparse so I would suggest you search some online videos and forums (Etailer, Piloteers, etc.) for great installation tips instead of just following the instructions. This is especially important when removing the wiring harness cap located under the rear bumper (remove the wiring harness member from the frame to properly remove the cap).

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Modern

Works great easy to install

Bought for my 2013 Honda Pilot. The kit contained everything I needed. Easy to install and everything works without any problems! Very happy with the simplicity and it saved me over $200 from having to do it at the dealer! The hardest part of the installation, as many have said, is removing the protective cap from the car's wiring. The metal mount you can buy isn't the best. It doesn't hold the connector well enough to simply plug in the trailer wiring. It simply slides through, but serves toโ€ฆ

  • So far so good

EASY TO INSTALL! WORKS PERFECTLY!

Easy to install, works great on a 2012 Honda Pilot. The instructions are a bit unclear so I'll break them down for you. First step; Under hood fuse box (the one in the middle of the engine compartment - similar to under the air intake, but the air intake does not need to be removed). Insert the fuse into the empty slot labeled "TRAILER". Then open the tailgate and fold down the rear seats. There is a small cover on the driver's side that says "AUX" which you need to open with a flatheadโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Wow, exactly as advertised!

I have just finished installing this trailer lighting harness on my 2013 Honda Pilot. First, let me say that I've spent 30 years behind a desk in an office. I guess I have some mechanical skills, but I'm as far from a mechanic as you can get. I called Honda to see how the dealer could help me. They wanted $220 for the seat belt with no taxes or installation. Everything I seemed to find online was complex and included trailer brake parts. I needed this to rent a small trailer about once a yearโ€ฆ
