Vornado VFAN Vintage Circulator Green Heating, Cooling & Air Quality Review

What a disappointment. On the other hand, it's cute. Besides, there isn't much positive to say about it. It should provide air circulation in a small space. I placed it in my tiny bathroom and only felt the air movement when I brought my face or hand directly to it. I don't understand why it has such good general reviews. I have another small "Vornado" that can be used on a table or similar to blow straight at you. He almost didn't move his air. It didn't even let my hair fly. I'm not sure why…

I returned the first one because it kept making various noises of ringing, grinding and banging. With the second everything was fine for some time, but now, after 4 months, it also twitches and the speed increases or decreases, sometimes to a standstill. Completely unacceptable for a $60 fan. Update: I contacted Vornado about their offer and they promptly sent me a replacement (they couldn't offer a refund as it wasn't purchased directly from them). They ended up buying 3 colors and in less than 6 months they made a terrible noise. We can't even use them and now I can't return them. So it's terrible coming from a company that should be a great company. Waste of money unless you are looking for a paper scale which these are. I have a mid-century design aesthetic in my home and wanted a table fan for my son's nursery shelf and thought it would be perfect as it looks retro. It arrived and seemed solid and of good quality. I wanted this fan for airflow and some white noise while he sleeps. The airflow was adequate, but the noise was actually a little quieter than my other fans in the house, and it didn't block household noise either. ****UPDATE 02/27/18**** Except for 1 star. Each of these fans has squeak/squeak/rattle issues. Vornado's answer is you destroy your fan (by cutting the power cord at the base), send them a picture with the power cord and the serial number in the photo, then send you a new one. They do it relatively quickly, but it's a huge waste. I have no problems with my fan. It's not quiet, but it's stable, so the noise is off. It's hard to tell how big it is in photos, so I'll just tell you. If you had a globe on a stand that spins, and the globe was the size of a volleyball, that's how big the fan would be.
