I intend to use this hole saw on wood. I tested it on a piece of scrap pine. It cuts very well, but it was a bit difficult to cut through the last 1/16 to 1/8 inch of wood without breaking away the wood on the bottom side of the hole. Using another piece of wood under the work piece helped. I found that the spring may interfere with cutting a hole of a depth approaching the depth of the saw. I purchased this enclosure hoping to stay dry on wet golf days. However, it was incredibly difficult to install and did not fit correctly. If you haven't used one like this the hooks work great but take a little getting used too.
