This blanket has very solid construction, easy to use controls and meets all my expectations. If there is a concern, it may be because using it in winter without a blanket (Northern Washington) allows heat to escape. . Now, at the end of August, it doesn't heat at all. I can throw blankets over it as an insulator but nothing. Now it's just a blanket. Update September 12, 2020: Still no word from the manufacturer, Sunbeam or Revain. I spent a total of $159 on this electric blanket. This lasted 6 months. Never washed. The Sunbeam warranty is worthless but as a longtime Revain customer I expected more from them.
