Review on Motive Products - 0115 Late GM Plastic MC πŸ’ͺ Power Bleeder: Boost Efficiency and Simplicity in Brake System Maintenance by Kevin Mariappan

Great concept. Poor performance and poor quality.

Pumping is a good idea, especially if you don't have a helper. However, this is only good if it works as advertised. I'll look for a better quality alternative if I make one. Good: The container is a good size and durable. The concept is great. Bad: The plate is not sticking to the master cylinder. There are some indentations in the rubber (see photo) that create a path for the brake fluid waterfall with the hardware attached. The hose has a "set" in the box, so it acts like a coil spring, making it difficult to work with. The hardware is not very good. There has to be a better technical solution than a chain and wing nuts. Difficult to set up. Clamps are sharp and cannot be removed for cleaning. There are no pictures in the instructions and not all steps are indicated. For example, when the job is done and you depressurize, the tank is still full (overfilled). You need to find a solution to remove excess fluid. The overall concept is great, but I got the impression that the company had a great idea 30 years ago and then stopped making design improvements. Rest on your laurels. They could take over the market if they made some basic design improvements.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
