Review on Marius Fabre Marseille Soap - 14.1 Oz by Chantel Cooper

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Smells like a tire shop and that's good.

Not all castile soaps are created equal. My skin is very sensitive to many chemicals. Soap is problematic. I'm a girl looking to replace the Kiss My Face castile soap as they've gone out of business lately. This soap was great. I bought castile soap from Greece and Palestine. Both purchased from Revain. Both caused an itchy rash within 24-48 hours of application. Itching. Blow. Burn. Pains. Scab. It takes about 1-3 days to fully appear (delayed reaction) and then takes 2-3 weeks to heal assuming I stop using what's causing the reactions. Both soaps state that they only contain olive oil, salt and soap base. That's all. However, when I received them, they smelled slightly pleasant. That means they have taste. That's a problem! Most likely it is hidden in the "soap base". The smell is BAD. Fragrances can contain really terrible allergens. So my last hope was this Savon de Marseille soap. Some reviews said it smelled bad. IT'S GOOD. This means that there really is NO FRAGRANCE and therefore no allergens hidden in it! When I bought Marius Fabre soap, it smelled like a tire shop. It's not very pretty at all. But I do not care. When I use it my skin is fine and it's a complete relief. How important is it that for relief you have to buy soap from the other side of the world and from an old recipe?
