This was my first towel of this type and I knew from the reviews it was going to be thin and similar to the towel you use to dry your car. What I didn't know was that it could be used as a blanket when it was too hot in my tent to use a sleeping bag. When the temperature dropped to 40 degrees the next night, I put it in my sleeping bag as an extra layer of insulation to keep me warm. One night it rained and my tent got water on the mattress and my sleeping bag soaked up quite a bit of water. The towel couldn't soak it all up, but it soaked up pockets of water from the holes in my mattress and some water from my sleeping bag. It's no wonder, but it certainly made life easier for a man who loves great INdoors.
