I spent a week shopping for the best electric blanket for my bed. I've looked at heated mattress pads, water heated mattress pads, electric blankets, etc. I finally decided on this one. I have a king bed, but I prefer a queen comforter because I put it on top of all my sheets and not under the comforter. The color is perfect. I know the lighting can make a big difference with the colors, but in my room it's slate blue (gray blue). A few people have mentioned the large tag on the duvet and since my duvet is on top of the bed I definitely didn't want the tag to show so I turned the duvet over and it works the same way. The ceiling does not differ from one side to the other. A king-size comforter hangs over my king-size mattress, maybe 4 inches on each side, just long enough for a bed.
