Review on πŸ›οΈ Full/Queen Ivory Vellux Blanket - Soft, Warm, Insulated, Pet-Friendly - Ideal for Home Beds & Sofas - Original Quality by Brandon Doctore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far I am satisfied with the Vellux Blanker.

Vellux comforters have been around since the 80's. The last one I had was completely worn out so I went in search of a new one. I started reading the reviews and was concerned that the quality had dropped. I tried to find one locally but it turns out nobody sells them anymore so I went ahead and ordered. Got a new one today (Ivory Full Size/Queen Size) and it seems thinner/lighter than the ones I've had in the past. I only noticed a faint odor that could be from the plastic packaging, nothing like the smell that others have noticed. I immediately tossed it in the washing machine on the gentle cycle, cold water, Woolite powder detergent. When I opened the lid, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my comforter was completely intact. I put it in the dryer and dried it with two sheets of fabric softener on auto dry, low gentle settings. I pulled it through a second time as it was still pretty wet and my clothesline was no longer usable. I spread the comforter out on my bed as soon as I got it out of the dryer to make sure it was completely dry before folding it up and storing it until needed. I am happy to report that after ONE wash it is much softer and the smell is gone. I'm so glad my daughter is home from the hospital and I hope it warms her up because it's a lot colder here than her home in Southern California. Remember to follow the instructions on the packaging and be careful when washing and drying these duvets. So far I am a satisfied customer. I've only given it three stars as I can't rate durability yet and time will tell how well the comforter holds up to washing and wear.

Pros
  • SOFTNESS: Velvety texture on both sides; Great as a queen size throw or sofa throw
Cons
  • Legacy model
