3M quality is good for sponges and swabs

You gotta love 3M products. They are great for finishing and light sanding when the steel wool is too rough. They are large and can be trimmed if needed and have so far found many uses in and around my shop.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Replacement material

Great, no scratches, best in sponges and sticks

Well if used properly, carefully and slowly, along with paint thinner it will do a great job of removing oil from equipment. The two will certainly make a good duo. There are no scratches left on the car and parts. Precisely.

Pros
  • I keep my fists secret

Great for my use

I make musical instruments and use these and a slightly rougher maroon pad for finishing. I like these for applying wax after the last coat of finish and maroon for lightly sanding each coat of four coats of finish for a smooth finish.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons

Know where best to use it

I have been using 3M Scotch Brite in the garage for almost 40 years. Thoroughly prepare existing paintwork with 7448 (car paint) 7448 = gray = mineral silicon carbide. The blunts have become. Use 7447 for thorough preparation of aluminum or steel (bare metal) 7447 = red = mineral corundum. Stay sharper on steel. Both are real quality products.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Fakes sold by Aleksandra & Co

Why does Revane put up with this? I have received the obvious fakes, those from Alexandra & Co. They don't look, feel or perform like real Scotch Brite 7448s. They aren't even in the official Scotch Brite packaging or are on the pods with one branded. There should be consumer protection against such fake hoods. Revine, you're ruining your brand! Look at the pictures - you can see it, a different colour, texture, inferior print. Then when you use them side by side, they feel and react…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good material fairly fine abrasive does not clog

Came in a 3M box seems fine to me. Great for my woodwork. It's really effective, leaves a smooth finish and doesn't clog like sandpaper. It does wear out with use, but with a whole box I don't have to worry. I also cut the squares into smaller pieces and gave half of the box to my brother. We both find many useful uses. It works great with metal, according to my brother he used it to clean some old rusty hand saws at our parents house. Quite a lot of dust can be generated.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
