Not enough weight to really work well.

As mentioned in other reviews, this device needs: A) a cross firing pin rather than a solid rod. B) much more weight behind the piston. You can hit a bottle for a very long time. I'll try filling the top of the plunger with molten metal to add weight after each stroke.

Disappointed

Much smaller than expected, not good for fries making. The description says "Capacity 6x6x12", which is the general size of the product, doesn't hold much frit, and with the gap between the inner and outer tubes, you lose a lot of frit, one stick is very thin, a second stick will do for good function needed. Not worth the money for this item. Also, this item is listed at a lower price in aanraku's "frit maker" section. so i figured aanraku studios "frit piston" was actually a separate article.

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Not suitable for making fries

Three noticeable stoppers with this product: 1) The description says the capacity is 6" x 6" x 12" but it's actually 3-1 /4 in. diameter for 5-7/8" pipe. The claimed volume is 432 cubic inches while the reality is 48.74 cubic inches. Move up in the piston instead of breaking/grinding. 3) The inside of the glass jar and the outside of the flask are painted, so if the paint is scraped off these two surfaces, it will contaminate the glass.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
