Fulfills its task.: Oils and liquids

I liked the liquid. Flushed with the new fluid and steering is much better than before. I would happily use them again if needed.

Not yellow, transparent

Incorrect description. It's not amber like ATF, it's clear. Maybe it was reworded in a different color at some point? All vials contained clear liquid (received November 2021).

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • cord shorter than other picks

89021184 and 89021185 Replacement

I replaced the power steering hoses on a 2004 Trailblazer. The manual states that it uses 89021184, which is an obsolete product. According to GMPartsPrime.com, 89021184 and 89021185 have been replaced by 19329450. Note this is a 1 pint size. It took 2-1/2 pints to fill my car. The oil was blown out of the radiator and the rail was stroked to force all the old liquid out.

Pros
  • Hydraulic Oils
Cons
  • Weak Kit

OEM product. I wouldn't recommend using anything else for power steering pumps. My car model is not designed for synthetic power steering, so do not use fluids other than those recommended by the manufacturer. While synthetic materials claim to be good for rubber seals, they can't claim the same for the internal working parts of the pump itself. That's because they know it won't really help the pump itself. It spoils the details. The GM pump was designed and tested for refined mineral oil.
