This is my second purchase after mistakenly taking the comments on my first Bloch ballerina seriously. I simply measured from toe to heel without rotating the ruler 90 degrees without twisting and ordered that size. Ordered the wide version even though my feet are not very wide. If you have very wide feet, consider going 0.5 or 1 size larger than this method I've outlined here.

I've worn them all my professional life, to be honest I haven't found a more comfortable and beautiful silhouette on my leg. I recommend it to anyone who wants to make the most beautiful lines.
