There are pros and cons

Our kid isn't a big fan of Blue's Clues but we look at it and it was happily accepted as a Christmas present. Our complaints as parents are that Blue sounds louder than we'd like, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the volume down. The sounds of songs and dogs are also very limited as the guitar offers little additional use other than changing the tempo of the music. The main point of criticism is the missing volume control and the limited functionality.

My 3 year old wears blue everywhere

Arrived on time. It was delivered in a Blue's Clues box. I thought when I opened it that it was packaged in retail packaging but it wasn't. The box was the only packaging we were reasonably happy with, but if it's a gift it's worth considering. Otherwise the toy is great! My 3 and 4 year old boys love it! It only plays a Blue's Clues theme song, but my kids love it too. My 3 year old wears it everywhere.

Pros
  • Hands free kit
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Pros and cons of this purchase

Pros and cons of this purchase! My son LOVES it, it's a pretty decent size and has Josh's voice on the exact song from the show. Cons: It's very, very repetitive, it's the same song over and over. For this to work you need to push the guitar straight towards the blue, if you're within two feet of it it won't work. For the price I paid it should do MUCH more. Plus it comes in a box so the birthday surprise was ruined. I would say wait until the price goes down before buying.

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Not worth the price

The packaging was a little disappointingly blue and the guitar just lay loose in the box like it had been used and dropped. At first I thought it was defective because the guitar didn't turn blue to respond, but we found out the guitar has to be next to the dog, which is disappointing. We also didn't know that it plays the same song over and over with random blue noise in between. You think you can get more than one song for that price. Absolutely not recommended, the children are alreadyโ€ฆ

  • Certified
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Try it at a toy store before you buy it.

The same complaints as everyone else. We really thought we had a damaged toy! A cheap box that only contains a dog and a guitar. It's hard to complain when it hurts so much to unpack the toys. But still we thought we had someone's returned toy. Very repetitive, everyone was waiting for all the other cool songs from the show but no no blue skis? Let's do it now. 50 bucks and you get a song? It also seems that the guitar has nothing to do with the toy at all. Until I read the review I thought itโ€ฆ
