This is an update of a review I posted in January 2020. I BOUGHT THIS HOT MACHINE LATER IN NOVEMBER 2019 AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED. Now, in March 2020, I am completely satisfied. This gives a lot of cheap hot later on a daily basis. TIP, I turn off the machine to avoid burning the heating element, just as a precaution. I read a lot of comments left by others and finally took a chance. I can say I've had no trouble loading jars of shaving cream and it heats the cream or gel to a very comfortable temperature. Many find that it does not heat up to a high enough temperature and cools down too quickly. All I can say is that the temperature is comfortable for me and I can't fault the machine for how quickly the heated cream cools, my barber cools too.

I upgraded a previous Conair model (HGL1NR/HGL1R) after a few days of use when it stopped coming even after the new Barbasol. The trigger is hard to pull because I have Parkinson's disease. This is a great accessory for the man who loves a warm lather old fashioned shave. I turn it on before I shower and it's ready when I get out. It can accommodate both short and tall shaving cream jars by adjusting the base. I'm on my second car that will last for years. It's also great for those of us who shave our heads. It really prepares the scalp for a safer, closer shave. You should still use a good blade like the Fusion for shaving your scalp and for safety.

I have had very few issues with this unit. Sometimes if you try to slowly release the foam you will end up with very hot water in your hand once the foam comes out. It's uncomfortable, but it doesn't burn. The foam itself comes out nice and warm and feels very comfortable on the face. Whether it actually helps with shaving or not, I don't know; I really didn't notice any difference. The big advantage is the nice warm foam on your face.
