Works best at

Easy to install and looks OEM. If your engine is getting a little warm but isn't showing a temperature on the thermostat, this could be your problem. I immediately noticed that my fan is on and now my mileage is much better.

Pros
  • coolant temp at
Cons
  • coolant temp I vaguely remember

DOES NOT WORK FOR 97 JEEP 4.0

Says it will fit 97 Jeep Cherokee and it does. But it doesn't work on a '97 Cherokee Jeep. My electric fan ran all the time and the high engine temperature light came on at 30 second intervals. Also, I only had to replace the one I originally had because I accidentally broke it while adjusting the serpentine belt tensioner. Jeep had no problems at all until I installed this thing.

Sensor defect. best in Sensors

Decided to install a new sensor with a new water pump. The new unit sent the correct temperature to my 1997 Jeep's sensor, but sent a high resistance reading to the OBD11 unit, triggering a trouble code (PO118) causing the engine to stall. I put the old temperature sensor back in and there were no more problems. Check the resistance reading between old and new and this new block is 180 degrees higher. Cannot be used on this vehicle, although specifications state it can. Maybe just a lemon, but…
