Description of Density Cubes Metals 20Mm Sides

Set of 6 Density Cubes. Set includes Brass, Lead, Iron, Copper, Aluminum and Zinc. Includes a plastic snap top case for convenient storage. Each cube features an element stamp for easy identification. Cubes measure 20mm (0.8") on each side. Excellent for physics classrooms. Density Cubes have a wide range of educational applications for all grade levels, including density investigation, specific heat and specific gravity exploration. Due to the nature of raw metals, some oxidation or corrosion due to humidity and storage may occur. Simply scuff any oxidation off to make cube look brand new again. Designed to be used in an educational setting and are not fabricated using ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the +/- 5% range of any stated dimensions (although they are generally much tighter).

The dice are fine but the plastic box is covered with foil

Dice are ok. The engraved letters on each dice are useful and important to identify them. But the plastic box is foil. I got mine broken.

Pros
  • Set of 6 density dice. The set includes brass, lead, iron, copper, aluminum and zinc. Includes plastic case with snap closure for easy storage
Cons
  • Discontinued

High School Teachers

I teach chemistry and physics (introduction, general and AP). Things that students can touch and feel are always helpful. The price was fair and their density cubes are good for that.

Pros
  • Ideal for physics classes. Density cubes have a wide range of educational uses for all levels of education, including the study of density, specific heat, and specific gravity.
Cons
  • Other, Other

Perfect for my class!

Great cube set for my density lab. It is important to note that the name of the metal is engraved on the surface of these dice, while the Ajax brand is not. Both kits are good but I needed unfamiliar metals for my students to do lab work. I solved the problem by sticking little pieces of paper with the dice number on the name. Problem solved. Both sets are well built, although externally these dice were a little premium.

Pros
  • Designed for educational purposes and not manufactured by ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the range of +/- 5% of all specified dimensions (although they tend to be much tighter).
Cons
  • No instructions
