There is no instruction booklet included.

The box says it comes with a "fully illustrated technical booklet" but that's not the case. Traces of glue are visible after mixing etc. I didn't find them to mix very well. Not my favourite.

I like this ice cream set

I like this ice cream set. It has so many awesome colors, both regular and metallic, as well as three stamps that can be used for journaling or whatever. I'm crazy about them on art tiles, in my magazines, on canvas and I will use them in everything I can think of. Haven't tried it yet but read that they can be made into a watercolor spray or mixed with other mixed media. These are my next tests.

Fun colorful mixed media with Gelatos!

Ice cream is ideal for mixed media! I love the color scheme and this set has the most colors. I completed my collection with several small 4 piece sets. All it takes is a stronger body. In fact, I'd appreciate it if they made a good, full-fledged argument for them. However, the colors are so vibrant and the metallics have such an interesting sheen! I like to reach in with my fingers, smear the colors and blend them out.

I applied the product to 93# mixed paper and no matter how much water was applied and spilled with the watercolor brush you could still see the strokes where the color was originally applied to the paper became. Although the colors were well pigmented, I find that the fact that they don't mix well and leave noticeable application marks on the paper makes it an unacceptable choice for my work. For some, this is probably their medium of choice, which is good, we're all different when it comes to…

Nice colors, nice set.

I like using gelatos in mixed media as they are very versatile, they can be used with a brush and water, straight from the tube it comes in, with a spray bottle, sponges etc as they are water soluble are. This set includes 28 absolutely beautiful colors and multiple tools such as spatula, rubber tray for dissolving products, stamping and other uses. This is the best price I've found for a full range of colors.

This package does not include a fully illustrated booklet with instructions for embossing, feathering, layering, mixed media and painting techniques. I've looked at other Faber-Castell packages online and they include this guide. I have never used this product and need some kind of guidance. I understand that ice cream doesn't dry without a top coat. I'm returning them until I figure out what's going on. However, this is the best price I've found for a full palette of ice cream colors. As I wrote in my reviews of other desires (I'm a bit obsessed with them), THIS IS PERFECTION! I love the wide range of Faber-Castell colors presented in this pack. It's like a color fairy went on a mission to find all the colors you might need, then added a few more that you use over and over without realizing it.
