We wanted to replace 6 globe lights with these that look like lightweight recessed lights. We first bought 2 Halo brands from HomeDepot for $40 each. They were very difficult to install due to the transformer that had to be placed inside the J-Box (which was intended to be a deep J-Box). However, these lights didn't have to have a part in the J-Box and were much easier to install. We plan to buy two more. There was enough light. slightly darker than halos.

Low profile, easy to install. Very bright - it hurts to look directly at it. The color is warm white, but the CRI is not as high as other high-end LEDs. However, I specifically wanted a bright replacement for the earlier glass body light that came with my house, which would result in both CFL and LED lights failing within a year due to heat. Easy to install in my shower ceiling but my junction box wasn't flush with the ceiling so I had to buy longer screws. Took me about 40 minutes because I forgot the foam lining the first time. Doh! Comes with mating connectors that simply plug in 2 pairs of wires for easy electrical connection. My first attempt to assemble a ceiling light - you have to start small! I played around a bit with the length of the screw protruding from the mounting plate to be able to grab and turn the bracket to tighten/fasten, but it worked out in the end. Maybe I'm a beginner, but it seemed to me that the mounting wires are awkwardly located in relation to the screw insertion points, which makes assembly much more difficult. I was remodeling a kitchen and needed something flat to throw extra light into a far corner that used to be a cupboard. It worked, but with some limitations. We are satisfied with this lamp. We installed it in our 10ft bathroom above our shower. It definitely brightened up the room and provided enough light for tasks like shaving legs. We bought a bright white that creates a sort of institutional lighting with a white bathroom. If I were to buy again, I would definitely prefer a warm light to this colder one.
