I was remodeling a kitchen and needed something flat to throw extra light into a far corner that used to be a cupboard. It worked, but with some limitations. As others have noted this will not fit in a standard 4 inch ceiling box. I read in other reviews that the supplier will provide an adapter so I'll give that a try. the threshold is bright enough. I connected this light to the same Lutron CL dimmer as my main kitchen light which uses MR16 LED bulbs. It's fine since the homeowner rarely dims the lights anyway, but if you plan on dimming this device, know that it won't get very dark. to do, it puts out quite a bit of light and the temperature is well suited for the GE 3000k LED bulbs in the main fixture. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.
