Fits snugly around ankles

I bought this for my husband. His socks are very narrow at the ankles and he has a slim build. Socks are sewn well, the fabric is decent. It will stay, but will most likely try to find another option or replace normal socks due to the size.

  • Velcro

Quality socks made from eco-friendly materials Active

Socks are of good quality and are good at repelling insects, but other measures are needed to repel them completely. These socks are a good place to start if you're going to an area with buggies, but you'll still need to use a shoe repellent to keep the hordes of biting insects at bay.

Pros
  • and built to last. Our insect repellent socks are made from a comfortable bamboo blend of 49% polyester, 47% cotton, 3% rubber and 1% spandex for flexibility and a custom fit.

Looks pretty solid so far

Post Lyme disease, tucked into pants. Can't comment on insect repellency, but the quality of the socks seems solid. very durable. After each wear I put them in the dryer for 20 minutes to kill the mites. So far, after 5 wears/drying and several washes, they are holding up well and not shrinking after drying all the way through. will release an update at the end of the summer if their performance changes.

Pros
  • 49% Polyester, 47% Cotton, 3% Rubber, 1% Spandex
Cons

No ticks all year round

I live in an area where a high percentage of deer ticks transmit Lyme disease. I got ticks every year and even went to the doctor for antibiotics for a deer tick. This year when I wore these socks, permethrin leggings and soaked all my clothes in permethrin, I didn't see a single tick on me. Next year I will be sending my clothes in for treatment because soaking has left a slight odor. Socks don't smell.

  • Imported
Cons

Comfortable and functional socks.

After a bout of anaplasmosis (a disease transmitted by black feet) I bought four pairs of these socks complete with permethrin-treated clothing and picaridin skin spray. The socks are perfect - comfortable, stretchy, a good size and high enough to match my latest fashion look - when I'm working outside I tuck my legs into my socks. Insect Shield's claim of 70 washes sounds good to me, and as a Northeast gardener, I expect to order a new shipment of these socks every spring.

Pros
  • EPA tested, verified and registered. Use our socks to protect your feet from bug bites and ticks during outdoor activities like hiking, backyard BBQ, camping, international travel and more. Insect Shield is an EPA registered clothing treatment technology that repels mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, ticks and mosquitoes (invisible)
Cons
  • Minor issues

Good anti mite socks

I love insect repellent and jeans, pants, shirts and socks made from it. I can say that since I started wearing their gear on the street I haven't had a single quirk. I often go hiking, relaxing, and spending a lot of time outdoors in potentially tick-infested areas. i love their products. Your socks aren't exactly 5 stars as they're thinner than I'd like, but I'm still wearing them or with another pair. although in warmer weather I wish they were more thick than hiking socks. It's already…

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

They are ineffective. Don't waste your money and don't get eaten alive.

Didn't help stop fly bites while camping at BWCA. I had high hopes but how to cheat. I blame myself for not reading the fine print. They're impregnated with a 0.25 permethrin solution, which is half the recommended amount, or half the amount a product like Sayer makes for your own clothes. INEFFICIENT! I've worn them in the worst conditions I've ever seen in my 30 years of BWCA training. I bought them for both my son and myself thinking I was a smart son of a bitch. Not correct. I wish I could…

Pros
  • Repels vermin and insects. Comfortable anti-insect socks provide extra protection from insects when you go outside. Our socks are a comfortable and stylish way to repel bugs during any outdoor activity. The repellent stays in the socks, not on the skin. You can't say it's there, but bugs can. Insect Shield is an insect repellent you'll be happy to wear
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
