Description of InTank Chamber Media Basket Fluval

Fits Fluval Evo 13.5 and Fluval Spec 16 in Chamber Two (accessory chamber). Keeps rear chambers clean and promotes clear water. Provides an excellent location for chemical, mechanical or biological media. Includes FREE plug to block off lower hole on false wall. Forces water through filtration media and not just around it. Media Basket is two sided and once installed is "boxed in". Features a three shelf design with the middle shelf being removable, give you ultimate media options. Built in handle for easy installation and removal. Improves the poor flow track of Fluval's slotted baffle design, water if forced through the basket.

Not as useful as Camera Basket 1

I found Camera 1 to be very good (although it takes a while to detect the water level). But the tray for camera 2 is less useful. The Evo already has a shelf that can get in the way of some applications. I also found it more convenient to use this basket with no or no internal shelf at all. Now I use chamber 2 for heating without the basket.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some issues

Overpriced and poor design

I wanted to use it to store biological media so I could put a bag of activated charcoal underneath for easy replacement. Because the sides are open, any media will just fall out when removed, rendering it useless for anything other than the sponge that should be in the first chamber. Still, like the original filter, insert the sponge directly into the filter if you want. The price is too high and not worth it.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Keeps media separate as advertised

I am currently using these media chambers for charcoal, GFO, matrix stones and polishing pads. None of my reef aquariums have ever been this clean. I definitely attribute at least some of that to the ability to stack materials in these chambers. However, I had to slightly modify the top of the acrylic where the water flows in. I had to cut out some acrylic so the water level wasn't as high as it was. The water level was so high that the salty creep was very bad. They worked, but the constant…

My clownfish scowled while I frantically searched for months for a replacement medium for my 13.5 gallon river lake. Tank. I found this product and added it to my shopping list while continuing to try different things. I was afraid it wouldn't fit in my tank when I got it. So I decided to try and order. When I received it I took it out of the box and it slid into the second slot of the tank like a glove. I've paired it with some of the recommended filter materials. After a few hours my…

That thing went straight into the tank! Works AMAZING

This GEM sat in my cart for 2 months when I thought about it, finally bit the bullet and paid $50 for the cart with InTank Camera 2 on it. First of all let me say that you will NOT regret buying this product. That! Compared to standard "foams", "filters", "inserts" this thing works wonders. I'm so sick of the weekly water changes and filter flushes (just to keep dirt out) but since adding this to my tank my water is noticeably crystal clear, it's very efficient and gets the job done. I paired…
