Do not buy from this company, they are not responsible for their products

This is garbage. The prongs on the end of the 50 amp outlet are bent and will not allow the cord to be inserted. I contacted the company and they gave me some lines saying we only sell one model which may not suit your needs. I believe a 50 amp outlet is a 50 amp outlet, it should be universal. They did not offer a replacement.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No instructions

Works as advertised

Matches our 50 amp caravan perfectly. It easily hooks up to an RV and saves us from hauling a heavy 50 amp cable when we're just connecting to a 110 amp home or solar generator. With this adapter we were able to easily connect AC to a standard home network. Easy to attach and the yoke slides open for a secure connection.

Pros
  • Works great for me

  • Quality

Not working (update added)

Do not buy. mine doesn't work It must be the wrong cable. When I plug it in, all of the electrical elements either don't work or make it do weird things. I reconnected my old cable and everything worked fine. I'm not sure what it does, but I'm afraid it could destroy the electrical system in my RV. Update: Excellent customer service. Mine was outside the return window but they still change. I changed from 1 to 3 stars until I can see if the new one works.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Does what it should.

A few points: 1: The one I received fits perfectly into the socket installed in my RV. Some people noticed it was the wrong install direction but didn't mention if that plug or their input was disabled. 2: The hot end of the 120V connector is connected to both L1 and L2 of the 50A connector. As a result, everything on your RV will "get hot" which means you shouldn't overload the adapter. I'm assuming the adapter's wiring is strong enough (12AWG wire) to handle 20A, but it's hard to say without…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Why didn't I get one years ago?

Not a problem for me. I used to pull out a 50 amp power cord and hook it up to shore power at home when I was preparing the trailer. Even though I have a 50 amp hookup, I never need a 50 amp service just packing a trailer. The 20 amp circuit is enough to run an AC unit, the fridge, and keep the batteries charged so it's just not needed. This article saves my back and is worth every penny in my opinion. Pros: Such a simple and easy connection makes it much nicer to pack a trailer. Useful also at
