The lock should be more secure

I bought this lock thinking it would be a better buy because of the Master brand. About 2 weeks after I bought the lock it stopped working. The code didn't work and there is no way to fix it. I used to be a locksmith so I could open it and reset the password again. After that, however, it only opened once. So I gave up and haven't bought another one yet. You would think that a trusted brand like Master would put their name on a better product even if it's cheap, but who wants to spend $8 every…

Simple lock that's easy to install/reset and will keep your bag locked, at least before security comes and takes it out of your throws luggage. Absolutely essential if you do not want your luggage to be damaged by the TSA as they can do this if you do not have a TSA approved lock. Guess what? I bought a nice 20 inch carry on in Europe which of course didn't have a TSA approved lock because there are no paranoiacs in Europe. When I arrived in the US, I left the lock unlocked and even wrote a…

Special TSA lock not so special

Decent strong little lock except: Received a "TSA lock" for the golf bag just before packing/departure. Arrived in Orlando with a nice note from TSA explaining that they had removed the lock. On my return to California I found it (elsewhere) in the crevice of a pocket. So that. TSA doesn't understand their own deal with lock makers: My golf bag burst both ways and now I'm paying for a useless lock and now it's always like this (maybe) - the cable opens at both ends, one end for me I use a…

Master Lock 4688D can be used, but Cargis luggage locks are better

On a positive note, the Master Lock 4688D luggage lock cable is thin and flexible, allowing the eyelet to easily slide through luggage lock shackles. The thickness allows for use with some bags, such as computer bags, that do not have luggage lock shackles. Setting up the combination is fairly easy and is similar to what is used on other luggage locks I've had. On the other hand, latching and opening the lock is really difficult, and until I've practiced it maybe 50 times, I never really felt…
