XL440 Scale is GREAT

I love this thing. Alone for many years. Exactly. Reliable. The latter no longer turned on even during the warranty period, so a complete replacement was sent immediately. Wonderful.

Works great with medical supplies and devices

I bought this for my blind elderly grandmother who also has a mild hearing loss. She uses it every day and thanks to the large base, she can get in and out without tripping. Even without a hearing aid, she can hear her voice clearly. So far she hasn't managed to mess anything up, which is quite unusual for her since she can't see what's touching her.

Questionable customer service as no contact phone number is listed.

Scales are intended for people who have mobility aids and suffer from visual impairment and some hearing problems and hearing aids. Can be used with a rollator attachment around it. The voice is quite loud but a bit monotonous, so sometimes you don't understand it clearly, and there's no way to ask about it again other than to remake it. The digital reader has a sticker saying it needs to be removed, but it cannot be removed and there are no instructions. There is no way to contact the company…

Good talking scale best among health monitors

There was an old talking scale from around 1987 that we replaced. Our old scale underestimated weight and only showed it to the nearest pound. As far as I can tell, these scales are accurate. I don't have any counterweights to compare right away. But a couple of times we compared our weight right after we got home from the gym and the weight was within two-tenths of a pound. It's great in my book. The broad base is also good. Surgery doesn't get much easier for the elderly. Insert the batteries

Pros
  • looking forward to it
Cons

I like the following decimal number

I needed a talking scale because of vision problems. On the plus side, it's very thin so doesn't require a huge step up, and the voice is pretty loud. The scale seems accurate compared to the scales found in the doctor's office. I like the following decimal. On the other hand, the voice is not very clear. This scale requires you to touch it before stepping on it. My scale usually gives an error on the first weighing. So I have to repeat to get the reading. The battery that came with the scale…

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Suitable for the visually impaired and everyone in general

My mother-in-law fell 5 months ago and broke her hip. She lost weight through trials. Since their vision is poor, this is the ideal VOICE scale. I noticed that there is a switch at the bottom to turn off the understandable voice. Someone wrote that the voice can be heard in another room, all I know is that the person on the scale hears the voice clearly. This is great for those of us who like to keep track of our weight both up and down. The base is large and stable. We had a name tag, I just…

Great for everyone - especially those with vision problems

This scale is very nice. If you have any issues preventing you from seeing readings, this scale is perfect for you. Even if your eyesight is ok it's still a great product, pretty accurate and definitely matches the weight reading. I like his clear, happy English accent. It is very easy to use and very understandable. The instructions are easy to follow: you place your foot on the scale to start the process. After the scale greets you with a friendly "Hello," remove your foot and wait for…
