BUY THEN I HOPE YOU NEVER NEED IT

Seems well made, bought as a last resort. I'm lucky I haven't had to use it yet, but the logic behind how it works seems to make sense.

HUGE TIME AND MONEY SAVING

Use immediately upon receipt. Ideal for replacing FORD 5.4L exhaust manifold bolts. The instructions for this are 4 times more expensive and can only be used for this. This can be used for anything that has room for a clip.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Unsafe

Great tool, no more headaches, save time!

Bought this tool after trying to drill out broken 6.8 liter exhaust bolts. The drill will come out from the center and it will be a headache to get out and tap. But now that I've bought this tool everything is so quick and easy, perfect centering and extraction every time saves time and hassle.

A perfect hole in a broken hairpin!

OTC Tools 6982DGS Drill Guide System helped create a perfectly centered hole in a broken exhaust manifold bolt. Make sure the hole is centered. Check the hole constantly while drilling, and additionally check the depth of the hole along the studs to make sure the hole does not hit the cylinder block water jacket. Use drilling oil/paste. Avoid overheating the drill bits when drilling metal.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Too Dull

Expensive but when you need it, you need it.

I had a broken exhaust manifold bolt in the head at the very back on the passenger side of my Chevy 350 engine. Not to mess anything up, this was the only tool I could buy to get the job done properly. As you can see from my photos it worked and with the angled bit I was able to drill a perfectly centered hole in the bolt part without damaging the head. I may never use this tool again, but the job was done right and I did it myself without the help of a machine shop.

Excellent tool kit guide

This product works great and is much cheaper than drill guides made specifically for exhaust manifolds. When I ordered I was concerned about the quality. However, the adjustable guide is very thick and strong, the pilot drills work very well, and the attachment system is very strong and holds up well. I used this tool to fix a badly off-center pilot hole. This tool was able to securely hold and guide my new hole right in the middle while the chisel was pulled through the old pilot hole. I was…
