Just received for my iPad Mini

Looks like a solid product. Haven't tried it on a flight yet, so we'll see how it goes, but I expect it's a lot better than dropping an iPad on the plane floor. It would be nice if there was a holder for an Apple Pencil or similar sharp device.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Nice design but only fits the smallest tablets

I love the design of this stand and the ability to tilt the tablet for better visibility and less glare. Unfortunately only suitable for the smallest tablets. Mid-sized Samsung tablets (like the Tab S5e) are about 1/4 inch larger than on a lapboard, which is very disappointing! It would be very helpful if the maximum tablet width was clearly stated in the description!

Great idea and design!

I mainly fly Cessna 152/172 and this knee pad perfectly solves the problem of holding my device. Works well with my iPad mini and smartphone. That's right, the kneecap wobbles a little. But it's almost imperceptible (I can't imagine at what level of turbulence the movement would be significant - I probably would have been better off not flying that day). Also, I could easily set the desired position and angle of the gadget. The clips are covered in a "rubber" material so they hold firmly but…

Not stable enough for car and car electronics

I put the iPad in the unit and it fell over from the weight. Nothing I've tried has held the iPad upright (at an angle). This requires a bit of adjustment to create a wider and longer base at the hips to provide a lot more support. Take a look at the recently released MYGOFLIGHT leg mounts for iPad/tablets - they're a little pricey but offer adequate support and stability. After an initial one (1) star rating, the seller refunded my money. If they upgrade the device to offer more stability…

  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great knee pad for aviators

I fly an experimental aircraft that has very little cockpit space and the dashboard is designed to allow mounting my iPad-mini on a RAM mount attached to an anti-glare screen an ipad-mini covering either my EFIS or various flight instruments. The Dream Pilot knee pad solves this problem perfectly. More specifically, by attaching the ipad-mini to my leg, the iPad-mini does not block flight instruments or EFIS. In addition, the knee support allows me to place the iPad-mini in both landscape and…
