Fricken is great for Anker

Easy to use, especially for new homeowners who know they don't. Rschunimagu. I recommend we have a house that has moved a little and dropped a couple of our doors. My bathroom was poor and the door was sticking out of the wall on the hinges. I left it alone for about two months. My friend told me to try it and I'm glad it worked great! It worked perfectly for our 100 year old house.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • There are downsides

repair wood hole?

I thought they would be great for fixing a hole on a table I bought used. The instructions seemed simple enough. However, when my husband tried this product, he told me never to buy this product again. Next time we'll use the old-fashioned method of filling a hole and drilling it again. I gave a 3 star rating in case he didn't use the product properly.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor issues

Not good for dowels

I have to say I'm not a fan of Screw It Again wooden dowels. They just don't hold up well. Conceptually they are a bomb, but in practice they don't hold up well. Toothpicks work too, and are a little cheaper than these anchors. I'm not saying they don't work at all, just that they don't work well in most applications I've used them for. It is best to use JB Weld 2K Wood Putty. Mix two putties together, fill the hole and in 10 or 15 minutes you're ready to drill a new pilot hole.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Amazing product! for anchor

I had no idea such things even existed. I bought my house and had problems with my cutlery drawer for about a year. About every week it would fall off its hinges due to the weight and the ripped hole holding one of the screws. The previous owner made the box in a strange way. I got tired of fixing the problem and started looking for hypothetical ways to change the drawer slides. I found a YouTube video where the wizard describes this product as an inexpensive solution. On a whim I ordered the…

Easy to use. Big hole, big screw.

Plugs are VERY easy to use. All 4 screw holes in the top hinge have been cleaned. I had one of the 4 holes quite big because I kept putting bigger and bigger screws in it. I simply screwed the little red cones into the holes and then snapped off the rest to use in the larger holes. It's a good thing I did because one hole was larger, requiring a larger diameter plug. But with a larger diameter anchor, the screw hole is also larger. So I installed a larger plug and then used another red cone tip

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Had a mixed experience

I've used them to fix a couple of chairs. I installed two of these, only to find that with the screw reinstalled, the screw was no longer long enough to pierce the rest of the chair. I was able to replace one screw with a longer one I had on hand and it worked fine. I couldn't loosen the second screw. It would unscrew to a point and after that would do nothing but spin around. And not available to try to pull out. I'm not sure if this was an accident, user error, or just happens sometimes…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic

I got my boat from the store and when I opened the battery door the screws fell out and the battery door started to separate from the hinge. I wanted to drill holes and glue dowels. I've seen these with high ratings. And while it's a bit pricey compared to dowels and wood glue, I decided to give it a try. I had to cut off the smallest end. And carefully insert them and screw them together. I was a bit disappointed to see that the small side buttons were already worn when I unscrewed one. I…
