The lid is good for keeping out general dirt but doesn't hold up.

This only really works if it's under some kind of ledge. We have a terrace without a roof and a table that is flooded with water after a downpour, even with a lid. A real agony to drain the water with a pile of sand and a huge mosquito trap. The lid is good for keeping dirt out, but not water, FYI.

Extremely disappointed

I ordered this sand table for my 3 year old and it arrived today. It's incredibly thin, and the table legs just don't slide in like they should due to the flexing of the crappy thin plastic it's made of. I personally wanted to return it but my husband is determined to put his feet in it and let our daughter have some fun with it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

I have a daycare at home and this table works great.

I have a nursery and this desk works great. I bought two, one as a sand table, the other as a mud/build table. Covers protect against rain. Anyone who complains about this must not have closed the lid properly. Both ends have a bungee cord that attaches to a hook. I had an older version of a similar Step 2 sand table, same type of lid, never had a problem.

Four years, Houston sun, two hurricanes, still looks new.

I bought this for our little daughter 4 YEARS ago. It's survived the scorching sun, two moves and two hurricanes and still looks practically brand new. Even the rubber bands still work. No, the lid doesn't close in heavy rain, but it helps to keep it clean. It easily holds 50 pounds of sand, makes a great ground floor, and won't crack despite the sun and weight. Place. I'm about to buy a SECOND one and am trying to figure out how to raise it for bigger kids, although no one complains about it…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Sand catcher to keep little ones occupied

Bought this for my little one as I do my best to keep him occupied and occupied. Anything to quell the urge to give him screen time. Well, this sand table will do the job in about 20 minutes. So I just have to figure out what to do with the remaining 13 hours. This table seems pretty solid and I move it all the time with no sign of instability. I put 25 pounds of $$$ Premium Sand in it (that's another story) and I think that's a good amount. It claims to be able to hold up to 40 pounds…

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

What a perfect item for toddlers

This was a Christmas present for our 20 month old granddaughter. She loves it. They have it in the house, so instead of filling it with sand, they covered it with corn and bean compound feed. So it provides a fun table to play without grinding the whole house. To be honest, using it indoors will last a lot longer than putting it outside and leaving it there. But he can go outside if you want, and that's what our kids are planning for when summer comes. Then you get sand. But every fall he…

  • Great for a small home

UPDATE: We've had some terrible storms and when I opened the sandbox after the yard was dry there was water in it so my husband drilled some tiny holes in the bottom, no big deal but this box worked very well well as long as those storms held water and/or dried up with the normal downpours we had. ORIGINAL: My 1 year old son, my almost 3 year old daughter and her almost 5 year old friend enjoy it. I assembled it fairly quickly, although I had to "shave off" the plastic in one of the leg holes…

The assembly must be included in the World's Strongest Man contest.

I bought this sand table without reading the 1 star reviews. This is usually the truth. BUT even after checking the 1 star reviews I would buy this table. Why? Because "assembly problems" are not a problem for me! there too) to work. MOLY. First let me say that these 1 star reviews are legit. This sand table is bloody HARD to put together. I had to check the instructions 3 or 4 times to make sure I hadn't missed anything and since the instructions consisted of 3 or 4 pictures I knew that wasn't
