I've been looking for a scale that measures body fat so I can track how much fat I'm losing. I bought this scale because the reviews were pretty good, but I'm not sure if the reviews I trusted used this scale for fat tracking. %, and the next day says 35%. It can't possibly be accurate. I even spent hours trying to verify that it was accurate and again it wasn't. I've tried emailing to return this product but no response yet. I look forward to an early reply. I am not satisfied with this…

How to use body composition readings on a scale

For the past 4.5 years I have been logging my weight, body fat and water percentage at home every morning and analyzing the data. A few caveats about the reports: the bone/muscle ratio (everything but fat and water) is the most stable measure of composition, so what changes daily is the fat/water ratio; Fat is only measured in the legs, so walking/hiking/running times give low estimates of total body fat and therefore high estimates of water; Actual water weight changes slightly and rapidly…

The old Tanita has carpet feet that raise it just enough to work well on low-pile carpets. I called support and was told that the new models don't have carpeted legs, and my old scale's legs (which are removable) don't fit. Based on that I bought an EatSmart scale instead as one article said they work on carpet. Not correct. He didn't even…

Reliable, comfortable scale from the industry heavyweight

I am happy with this purchase so far. After my old Tanita eventually broke (the LCD screen stopped working more than ten years after owning it), I was hoping to find a similar scale with reasonable BMI accuracy and more accurate weight measurement. (My previous scales measured in 0.5 pound increments; I aimed for 0.1 or 0.2 pound increments.) I looked at several scales and finally narrowed my search down to this and newer Greater Goods- scales limited. I chose this scale because while it's not…
