Efficient and secure but not very portable

I was looking for a laptop lock that I could put in my laptop bag and take with me everywhere to protect my MacBook Pro (e.g. a coffee shop). It's longer than necessary - I'm certainly not worried about theft once it's in place - but it's longer, heavier and more uncomfortable than required for my purposes. I would recommend this laptop lock for stationary use (e.g. protecting a laptop in front of a desk) but not for someone looking for security on the go.

Pros
  • Resettable 4-digit code offers up to 10,000 codes
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Lasts two months with laptop accessories

Round key pushes six pins at different distances, which allows the lock to rotate. The lock initially worked perfectly. After a month it became difficult to unlock. Lubrication helped for a week. The pins have a soft seat and the return springs are too weak to push the pins out. After six weeks, I occasionally had to wiggle the pins with a paperclip to pull them out far enough for the key to move them the correct unlocking distance. When I was two months old I put the key in and turned it but…

You get what you pay for

I was looking for an inexpensive laptop lock. The combination on this one was fairly easy to install with a small screwdriver, but the lock had an annoying habit of getting stuck in my laptop. I couldn't unlock it and couldn't remove it from my laptop (Acer) when it was finally unlocked. I almost had to try to cut the lock off with metal scissors. I finally freed it, threw it away and bought a Kensington 4 wheel cable lock and I'm much happier with the Kensington. A bit more money for a…

Noble and nano tips DO NOT WORK.

Awesome I spent $35 on a $4 cable lock. This lock has three attachments that should work with Kensington, Kensington Nano, and Noble lock slots. The only attachment that actually works is the standard Kensington slot attachment (tested on multiple laptops), which has been around for 25 years. If I just needed a lock for a standard Kensington, I could buy it at a regular store for $4 without having to wait for delivery. Thinking the first one didn't meet the requirements I returned it for…
