I love the waistband and the tie however, the midsection of the skirt doesn't flair like it does in the picture. It's a lot tighter before it gets loose. It might just be my build of course. These are great. I have swollen legs so I do not like tight socks and avoid them any chance I get. these are soft and warm. they could be slightly tighter, but my calves are quite slim. They have dots on the bottom so you do not slip.See full review

The skirt is a thin, but not see through, material. It's very flowy and light. I love the wasit with the tie so you can tighten it to fit better. It us true to size. It sits just above my ankles, I am 5'3". I'm not an expert with material but it feels high quality and not something I would find at a micheals or hobby lobby. I really like the feel of it. The fit is perfect, it's so soft, it has pockets! These are those go to shorts for hot summer days, hiking, camping, pretty much anything fun outdoors. The "cut offs" are made from that stretch denim that has lots and lots of stretch (for denim). The legs look short but they seemed longer on the pair I got. They certainly weren't too short like some are, and they don't ride up like some shorts tend to do.
