As stated you do need a very solid and heavy base for it due to the weight and width of the umbrella. This will keep it upright in light winds. I recommend a base with at least 60 lbs weight, or even better, one with 80lbs. Love this little dress. I am a bit on the older side and wanted something I could wear with leggings (on vacation - gotta wear those Disney Leggings), that would be long enough to cover my backside and not show my rolls to the world.
