Like other reviews have mentioned, the hat can arrive a bit mushed. It's really the luck of the draw as the plastic that shapes it is very good and I don't see how they can do any better. Have been using rechargeables for years. During the holidays especially, we have a lot of little battery-operated decorations. These may seem pricy at first, but they do recharge over and over again, and last about the same as regular alkaline batteries (on a charge). We’ve had this for all of 2 years with MAYBE 8 weekend trips. The Thomas Payne seats are 4 years old and still look new. These are just garbage. Never again. Pay a little more and get better quality.
