These fit loose (the size 32 had an actual waist of 35) - I purchased a larger size just for the loose fit. But the denim (in black) was really rigid, with no stretch. It has been years since a bought a pair of jeans that were this rigid and unforgiving. I move a lot during the day, and I need my jeans to move with me, not be hard and unforgiving like these are. I was nervous about the size, since I'm short and chonky, so I ordered a large and it's still roomy. But OMG, it's not only soft, it's luxuuuurious. My cat won't stop rubbing on my legs and I now look forward to cold nights just so I can jump into these and relax. LOVE the deep blue color, hood, and pockets, just cuz. This bench is very comfortable and has a beautiful elegant natural tone and the hide away storage has plenty of room for keepsakes or small pillows. Unfortunately, my height (5ft) is always the deciding factor in buying and keeping a furniture. I like pieces that allow my feet to touch the floor when I sit down and this bench is a few inches to high for me and therefore returning it. I did not realize it until I reviewed my order.
