I tried a cheaper pair before these and let me tell you, it's worth paying 2x the price of the cheap shoe to get a good quality shoe that does exactly what you need it to do and looks great even after 3 months of heavy indoor use. If you're just starting spinning or biking, maybe try a cheaper pair until you know you like it. If you're a fan of doing those activities, these shoes will not let you down. You will notice on most all black iron pipe threads, there is a taper near the end of the threads. It is at this taper that the pipe and fitting tighten up, making for a tight seal. On these particular fittings, two of the four threaded holes seem to be tapped completely through without the taper. As such, the pipe you will be inserting into said holes will not be tight, but sloppy. If I wasnt in a rush for this job, I would return. I bought this filter for my GE Refrigerator. I first installed the filter and after a series of "a loud racheting noise", no water would come out. I took it out and tried and tried again. Always the same loud racheting noise and no water. Tried it without the o-ring. Water everywhere. Gave up and put the old filter back in. No problem. I tried the next day with no luck again.
